The programs and services we provide to moms, dads, and families are only possible because of the generosity of individuals, churches, and businesses like you.
To continuously provide excellent care and service, we depend on our team of volunteers serving in roles ranging from medical care, client advocacy, teaching, mentoring, prayer team, event planning and support, administrative, and more. Take the First Step
The first step toward getting involved at Portico is to attend one of our Plug-In to Portico information meetings. Plug-In provides a great overview of “all things Portico”, including who we are, what we do, where we serve, why we are here, and how to get plugged in.

Plug in to Portico
Client Advocate or Male Advocate
Work directly with female and male clients, either inside Portico or on the Portico Mobile. Walk alongside and support them through their first appointment, their pregnancy, and the first three years of their babies’ lives. Time commitment is typically one 4-hour shift per week.
*Client Advocate training is required.
Medical Team
Work alongside our nurses to provide pregnancy tests, limited ultrasounds, STI testing and treatment, and other medical services for Portico clients. Must be licensed as an RN, RDMS, or hold similar medical licensure. Time commitment is typically one 4-hour shift per week.
*Client Advocate and additional medical training are required.
OH4M
Want to impact the lives of middle and high school students in Rutherford or surrounding counties? Our OH4M, Optimal Health for Me, Sexual Risk Avoidance program is for you. Become a Sexual Risk Avoidance Educator and teach the optimal health curriculum in our local schools.
*Time commitment is typically one week per semester. OH4M training is required.

Baby Boutique
Sort and organize donations of clothing and baby equipment and maintain Baby Boutique to provide a great “shopping” experience for clients.
Administrative
Assist with basic administrative duties, including but not limited to data entry, scanning, mailings, preparing baby bottles for campaigns, etc.
Special Projects
Assist with special projects as needed, including preparation of client Christmas gifts, OH4M classroom materials, marketing materials for campus events, etc.
Development Team
Assist with planning, preparation, and execution of fundraising events and other development-related projects.
Church Liaison
Be the primary contact for communications between your church and Portico. Coordinate baby bottle campaigns, baby showers, and other opportunities to partner with Portico through your church family.
Host a Baby Shower
This is a great opportunity for you and a small group of friends to help build a support system for the moms we serve and gain a better understanding of how we serve our community.

Prayer is one of the most important ways you can get involved at Portico.
Join our Prayer Team for an hour of prayer on the second Monday of every month at 6:00 p.m. at Portico.
